Nations United: Urgent Solutions for Urgent Times
|
Nations United is a special, first of its kind film, created by the United Nations on its 75th Anniversary and to mark five years since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals. In the midst of a pandemic radically transforming our world, Nations United tells the story of the world as it is, as it was, and as it could be. It focuses on the solutions and action we need to tackle poverty, inequality, injustice and climate change. Featuring the UN Secretary-General António Guterres and UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, Malala Yousafzai, Don Cheadle, Michelle Yeoh, Forest Whitaker, Thandie Newton, Sugata Mitra and an exclusive performance from Grammy nominated singer Burna Boy, and a new version of a previous UN performance by multi-Grammy award winning artist, Beyoncé.
United Nations Development Programme - Turkey
UNDP is the UN's global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in some 170 countries and territories, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. Source Reliability and Referencing
Sources, Types and Requirements
Your will discuss with your teacher the types and number of sources that may be suitable for your research.
Source Reliability
It is easy to find sources of information on virtually any topic by a simple internet search. However, how reliable is this information? How can you tell? These are important elements of media and information literacy – they also apply to non-digital sources such as TV, Magazines, Newspapers…etc
Here is a Website Credibility Checklist to help assess online research sources.

Referencing Sources

In the digital world where we can cut and-paste, it is a vital component of Digital Literacy. In this project, we will ask you to use APA referencing system.

Using Technology in the Project
This project offer the opportunity to develop your digital literacy skills in each of the six "capabilities which fit someone for living, learning and working in a digital society"
Your Online Platform
Storing, sharing and displaying your project.
One requirement of the project is that each team creates an online platform to store, share and display your ongoing work. As you complete a new stage of the project you should upload this to the site. The site must be accessible to all team members and your teacher whenever they have internet access. Here are some tools you may wish to use. |
Virtual and Collaborative Working
Communication, collaboration & partnership
One of the most important features of this project is teamwork. Digital technologies now allow us to communicate and collaborate with others even though they may be in other rooms, buildings, cities, countries....we do not need to be physically together to work. We can also work synchronously or asynchronously. There are too many tools to list but perhaps these are the most useful: |
